Our Help a Horse to Help a Hero Program allows corporations, businesses, groups, and individuals the opportunity to get involved and support the foundation of our center - our horses.
The typical yearly cost of maintaining a therapy horse is $5,000.
Costs breakdown includes board, feed, farrier, and veterinary costs.

San Diego Therapeutic Horsemanship needs private and corporate sponsors to help underwrite the cost of our veteran Freedom Reins program and contribute to ongoing stable expenses.
Your gift will allow us to support more of our veterans, run additional equine programs, and ensure our horses are healthy and happy.

Hans
Social butterfly & a great listener
Hans is the newest addition to the herd. Hans loves being with the other horses, especially Paddington and Max. He is a gentle giant, and seems unaware of his own size and strength.
Hans lived for a year in a pasture, and did not get the care, exercise or nutrition to keep him healthy. Now he is building muscle and confidence everyday as he learns how to serve people at the Center.
With the love and dedication he is receiving, Hans is an amazing addition to the team. He is excited to help riders in their Therapeutic lessons. Be a part of his journey and support his growth in the program!
